There’s no denying that waste management systems are essential to the well-being of our communities. Without them, everything would literally be a mess. As a waste management professional, you are well aware of the relationship hydraulics and waste management share. Without working hydraulics, a waste management system can come crashing to its knees.
We wanted to put together a little information on the types of hydraulic systems utilized in the waste management sector.
There are three types of hydraulic systems used in the waste management division.
The hydraulic systems on street sweepers keep the brushes rotating and create those mists of water. They come out at high pressure and due to the hydraulic system street sweepers work efficiently and lessen the amount of water needed for clean streets.
Compacting the waste is dependent on hydraulics. The motors that can take a large amount of waste and compress it down into something that will take up less space require a ton of power. By using hydraulics, the process is cleaner and more effective.
When a garbage truck picks up your can and dumps its content into the back, that’s hydraulics. These trucks are essential to our communities, whether they’re residential or commercial. Just imagine a world without garbage trucks. It isn’t a pretty sight, is it?
All of these devices, which our society depends on immensely, use different types of hydraulic systems.
These cylinders create a lot of power simply by letting liquid pressure build up inside. Like pistons, the power generated is essential to these waste management systems.
The fluid used in the cylinders needs to move around to gain pressure, which is where hoses come into the picture. All hydraulic systems depend heavily on their hoses, which is why you need durable hoses for your system to operate well.
Hose guards add an extra level of protection to the hoses, which we’ve already indicated are essential to the entire system.
We don’t need to tell you about the importance of a well-running waste management system. Without it, society could begin to fall apart. This may sound extreme but it’s a fair assessment. So, keeping your systems working properly is essential for the well-being of us all. That’s why we recommend continuing to fine-tune those hydraulic systems on your trucks and compressors so that you don’t run into any issues.
